Samson Part II

Today's Reading: Judges 16-18 and Luke 7:1-30

The clip above is from The Bible miniseries. Samson's hair was a symbol of the vow he and his parents had made to God. The loss of his hair was symbolic of his breaking of the vow. If you were making a movie on the Bible, how would you represent Samson?

For the New Testament passage here's a video by the Mormon Channel of Jesus raising the widow's son from the dead.

  1. Judges 17 and 18 were confusing..... that's going to take some more research I think. Plus has Israel ever had a worse leader than Samson? I think he should have cut his hair long before and maybe he would have actually served the Lord during his life.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Chris. And I agree -- Samson is a pretty awful leader. We would hope the leaders in Judges get better and better but it seems to be the opposite. God keeps digging them out of a hole and they keep putting themselves back in, until finally all they want (unfaithfully) is a king like all the surrounding nations.
